Message ...I remember Evan's car now. When I spoke to Greg about E-85 and 740's (maybe he was referring to Evan's car) he said that the injectors were pretty close to maxed out at that power level on E-85. Not that that was dangerous, but if there was any more power to be gained, the fuel injectors would need an upgrade.

Another reason I'm hesitant to make the switch to E-85 at this time, is I want the system to be 100% automated. Right now, you can run a Haltech with a flex fuel sensor and a Haltech boost solenoid. The Haltech will monitor the alcohol content of the fuel through the flex-fuel sesnsor and adjust the timing and injectors appropriately (that's good). The snag is that the Haltech software cannot automatically adjust the boost pressure enough to utilize the full effect of the E-85. There is a limit in the Haltcech mapping software on the amount of boost pressure you can increase over baseline (Greg told me the numbers, but I just can't recall. 150% or something). Basically, if you set the boost at a safe level for pump gas, the Haltech won't increase the boost enough to maximize power on E-85. And if you increase baseline enough to maximize power on E-85, it's too much boost for baseline pump gas. The boost range in the software isn't great enough.

Greg said they were trying to get it worked out, but hadn't fixed it yet. This was a couple months ago.

The bottom line is, for a guy like me, it really needs to be idiot-proof.
